Rob Perry's four images of pointing dogs - produced for Saatchi & Saatchi's Novartis Otrivin nasal spray campaign - have recently earned him a Gold Medal at Europe's premier creative awards ceremony, the EPICA.

“I think the interesting thing about this project was the timing. Once the client (Novartis) had decided to go for Saatchi's idea of using a traditional, George Stubbs style - a very different approach from the normal photography route favored these days - we were left with 6 weeks to produce four large detailed oil paintings.”

“Each image had to be constructed to a high level in Photoshop first. This stage was then signed off and they were then painted.”

“This was a major task when you consider that the Photoshop stage had taken up two of the six weeks! In order to get the images completed, dried and shipped to Italy from Texas in time I had to use quick drying oils....and a whole lot of coffee!”
