Grey Advertising in San Francisco has been working with Swedish artist Krister Flodin to produce a series of images for Adobe Inc. It's a massive, on-going campaign with four or five art directors involved; so far Krister has done 30 images for them over the past five months.

“The images are used for a direct mail campaign for the Adobe products Acrobat, Connect Pro and LiveCycle ES.  The challenge is to make something of the limited palette... only five colors for each product.  Also, to make the perspective plausible and, of course, to make it all work visually.”

“I get very detailed briefs from the agency... so it's not so much what to illustrate, it's how. For example, one brief says: There should be two girls pointing on the left and a group of guys on the right with one looking very disturbed... and so on. The hard part is to bring it all together and that makes the sketch phase a very intense job. A sketch can take up to two days to get it right- the coloring is a little quicker, about a day.”
