I just received a positive reply this morning from a children's illustration rep I had solicited a while back.
I am very excited about moving forward...BUT before I get too deep into things, I'd like to further check out recommendations, reputation, reviews, etc. What's the best way to do this? (without offending my possible soon-to-be rep)?

Could you ring up some of their artists to get opinions? (working relationship, number of commissions, etc.)
