ICON over 4th of July weekend! I missed the last few because the dates interfered with my vacations, bad luck. Now things are wide open and they put it over a holiday? All due respect but...come on people....

Jami, sensitive negotiations are now taking place and any talk of a set location is not conductive to garnering a affordable location for the next ICON. The location will be announced as soon as possible.
As to the date, please discuss what typical plans you have for this holiday and any opinions.

Guys, I raised the question becauase I thought the idea was when putting together a conference you want any decision you make to be one that encourages maximun interest and participation. Giving potential "customers" reasons to pass on the event should be avoided, especially when the are so many other dates available.
But, it is your conference to create.
Obviously the content and cost of the conference will be the biggest factors someone will consider in making their decision, but I do think you are wrong to ignore the point that scheduling it on a major national holiday weekend won't be a factor for many.
