I came across this site, It's hard to tell if
it's a good thing or not ? They do state
that  " The PLUS Coalition will not set any
pricing policies nor engage in any activity
involving pricing models." It's hard to read
between the lines at this point...

But what a nice thing it would be, if....

Thanks for posting that link, Dan. Very interesting,
and something to keep an eye on. It looks like
PLUS Coalition is not a licensing agency, but a
tool or technology that licensors can use. They're
seeking to standardize the terminology of
licensing and perhaps even offer some kind of
digital help in doing so, but I didn't see anywhere
that they plan to be a repository of images.

Here's a description of their mission (from the
site):
The Goal: To provide a single, comprehensive
resource for use by every professional engaged
in licensing images, so that we all may speak a
common language, avoid misunderstandings,
and achieve a precise mutual understanding of
the scope of any image license.

Listed as members I see Pentagram as well as
Getty, Adobe and the Graphic Artists Guild among
others. Sounds big.
